On a roll...

This baby blanket I made for a co-worker. It is a raggy quilt made of flannel. My co-workers are very accomodating in giving me reasons to quilt. For some reason I want a purpose before I start a project. I also made a burp cloth and baby doll for her as well. The doll pattern was purchased from a blog/etsy site called Bit of Whimsy. http://http//bitofwhimsydolls.squarespace.com/

Second Quilt

This strippy quilt I use a jelly roll from Moda called Pampered Pooch. I love the vintage looking fabrics that happen to be doggie focused. My daughter wanted a quilt this time and she also likes the vintage look. I alternated the jelly roll strips with 2 1/2" strips of Moda Muslin Mate fabric Bias Stripes. Backed it in a fabric from the Pampered Pooch line, trimmed and binded with a red polka dot fabric that I think is also Moda. Then I quilted it using a looping pattern up and down the rows. I still chickened out quilting the red polka dot trim. I hand sewed the binding on while waiting at the hospital for my daughter to have a procedure done. I finished the last stitch as she was waking up :)

Finished quilts...Yea!

This is my first quilt. I bought the fabric from a LQS as scraps they were selling pre-cut and bundled. I loved the bright colors but knew that it would clash with the colors in my home. I quilted in the ditch because I was scared I would ruin it by trying to meander or some other pattern. I gave it to my son for Christmas and he gave the proper enthusiastic responses. I wish I had gotten a full size picture of it before it went home with him.
